The spring/summer catwalk shows are always an exciting time! It’s a feel good season and that’s always reflected on the runway. Hallelujah! This time around was no exception – the bright colours were out in force picking up everyone’s mood and my trusty favourite spring/summer trends – stripes and florals – were of course prominent too. The 80s trend was most definitely a talking point, love it or hate it, whether styled in a more punk manner or perhaps softening it up in a tulle peekaboo dress. Minimalism was also a strong trend, although the word ‘minimal’ doesn’t seem to give it enough credit. Even the most simple items looked intriguing and inspiring in the way they had been styled, which leads me on to another trend – soft, flirty fabrics. This for me was everywhere. Whether that’s because it actually was, or whether it’s just that it’s a look I’m naturally drawn to, it was what i came away dreaming about. The textures were so angelic and yet provocative too in the sense there was a lot of skin on show.
Below are some of my favourite looks from the different trends coming through. Keep a look out for my upcoming post on achieving these looks from the high street stores!
